Riches And More
Q Magazine February 1997

It has been three years since Deacon Blue split, a silence hardly shattered by singer Ricky Ross’s solo career. This altogether superfluous re-issue was originally available as a freebie alongside Deacon Blue’s 1988 debut LP Raintown and, perhaps fittingly for what sounds like a collection of rather subdued B- sides, it’s a collection of B-sides. The “More” of the title refers to the band’s 1990 Bacharach & David EP, which includes the ineffably lovely I’ll Never Fall In Love Again, a Deacon Blue rarity in as much that backing singer Lorraine McIntosh actually gets to sing an entire verse herself and does so enchantingly.* *
